Five years ago, our church had no connection to Liberia. Many of us did not even know that Liberia was a country in Africa.
Then, God brought us Gary and Tammy Dunseath and family who became missionaries to Liberia. We caught a vision and burden for Liberia and began to support the ministry of the Dunseaths in Liberia. Through their prayer letters, visits, and coorespondence, we were enlightened to the great needs of Liberia.
In 2009, Bobbi, one of our members, visited Liberia and brought Liberia back to us in pictures and stories and connections with a few Liberian pastors. Our hearts grew even burdened to bless the people of Liberia. We raised money for several projects at a church and an orphanage.
Then, last summer God brought Emmanuel Jonah to our little church. Emmanuel was one of the pastors we had gotten to know through Bobbi. He had come to the United States with an orphan for a medical procedure the orphan needed. While he was here, he was able to come visit our church, preach, and share more on the needs of his beloved country.
And the rest... is history in the making. God used Emmanuel to spur several in our church to do more than we have and actually go to Liberia.
