Country Bible Church exists to bring glory to God in our families, community, and the world through lives being transformed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
With that purpose, our church sent a team of 11 to Liberia in the summer of 2012. Our hope was to bring the goodness of the gospel to the people of Liberia. We hoped to do this by bringing the love of Christ to people with medical needs, to orphans with multiple needs, in training Liberian pastors, and bringing encouragement to the Liberian church.
The Orphanage
Emmanuel Jonah (whom you can read about HERE) is the son of Anthony and Betty Jonah who operate an orphanage. Through our connection with Emmanuel, we had the opportunity to minister to the children in this orphanage. We were able to teach the children through stories and songs, taught them new games, and showed them the steadfast love of Christ through personal interaction.
The website of the Betty Jonah Orphanage can be found HERE.
Medical Clinic
God provided the opportunity, supplies, and personnel to run a medical clinic while we were in Liberia. We shipped nearly 2000 pounds of supplies, many of them medical supplies, that were used in running the clinic and meeting the physical needs of the people.
Training
Both of our pastors went on this trip. They were able to be used of God in training the leadership of several churches in Liberia. They also ministered to the people of the churches that we have contacts with in Liberia.
